Jay has composed and arranged for numerous variations of small groups and for standard big band personnel .
Most notably Jay arranged 2 Charles Mingus compositions for octet that were featured at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, an original - "Vigilante" - that was performed at the 2023 Monterey Bay Jazz Festival in California, and a Brother Yusef composition entitled "Samuel" - which featured legendary saxophonist Gary Bartz.
